Senior Policy Advisor
 
 
EducationCounsel LLC, in affiliation with Nelson Mullins Riley &amp; Scarborough LLP, based in Washington, D.C., is currently hiring for the position of Senior Policy Advisor.  Responsibilities include:
 
1.    Leading and managing research and analysis 
 
2.    Drafting memos, reports and presentations, including managing the work of others
 
3.    Managing discreet projects, including extensive interaction with clients, partners, and other external parties
 
4.    Leading project-based teams and supervising staff
 
5.    Managing client relationships
 
6.    Attending meetings, hearings, and briefings 
 
7.    Providing general support, as necessary, across all aspects of the organization
 
We seek resourceful, intelligent, hard-working individuals who possess strong analytical and research skills, good organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task. As a minimum requirement, Senior Policy Advisors must possess a Law degree or Masters degree, preferably in Public Policy or Education.  A minimum of eight years of relevant work experience is required.  Previous experience working in a position of leadership at an educational institution or at the federal, state, or local government levels is also required.  Applicants should have a strong interest in education policy and possess strong writing, relationship-building, and management skills.  Competitive salary and excellent benefits package.
